Ah, insurance. A dark art.
When you hire our kit you need your own hired-in equipment insurance to cover the replacement cost of the kit. We only accept bookings with valid insurance, which has to be specifically for hired-in film equipment, (your household or pet insurance will not work, nor will insurance for your own kit, or public liability) and must be arranged to cover the kit from the day it kit leaves us to the day it comes back to us, for the replacement value of the kit.
You want a quote for hired-in film equipment NOT public or employer's liability then enter the value (what it costs to purchase the kit not rent it - please ask our staff for the exact amount, don't guess!) of the equipment & the number of days you need to insure it for. This needs to include the dates you collect and return the kit, as well as the dates you are shooting with it.
No deposits. No exceptions.
By agreeing to hire from Feral Equipment you are entering a binding contract and you accept the Terms and Conditions of Hire.
These basically say that as soon as the kit leaves our office you are responsible for it until it comes back. If it comes back with anything missing or broken you have to pay for it. If kit is out of service because of damage on your shoot, you will be responsible for paying the daily rate until it comes back, also known as continuing hire charges.
This is why technical hired-in equipment insurance with continuing hire cover is so important, because you do not want to have to pay for that yourself.
PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE ANY INSURANCE WITHOUT FIRST CHECKING WITH US THAT THE DATES AND AMOUNTS ARE CORRECT
